#tbt: Nike Air Max 95 OG Grape Emerges Once Again

The Grape Air Max 95 isn’t just another retro drop , it’s one of the most beloved colorways in Air Max history, and this Spring 2026 re-release comes with something special: the "Big Bubble". But enough about this new release, let's talk about the OG.
Originally released in 1995, the AM 95 "Grape" was part of the lineup that shook up sneaker design. The "Grape" colorway which incorporates white, Court Purple, Emerald Green, and Wolf Grey, quickly became a fan favorite .
But the cultural impact of this sneaker goes beyond tech specs — Lil’ Kim helped turn these into an iconic moment in sneaker history. In the ’90s, she wore the OG Air Max 95 “Grape” on the cover of a Junior M.A.F.I.A. single, anchoring the shoe in both sneaker culture and hip-hop style lore long before sneaker drops were algorithm-driven and hype got measured in resale prices. That moment wasn’t just a stylistic choice — it was a cultural claim, staking the Air Max 95 in women’s sneaker heritage as firmly as any other chapter.
After popping up in a handful of retro runs over the years (most recently in 2018), it's time for Nike to bring back the “Grape” . Luckily for fans the sneaker is available now on the Nike website and select retailers for $190 USD.
